Supporting Inspiring Business Women with The University of Buckingham

The University of Buckingham are supporting the prestigious National Business Women’s Awards as the awards head into their second year and have chosen to sponsor the Corporate Leader of the Year Award, one of 20 highly contested categories that have seen entries from the best business women in the nation fly in from all corners of the UK.

The University has chosen once again to support these awards as we are passionate about developing the female business leaders of the future and are excited to be able to share through the awards, our fantastic range of programmes designed to inspire entrepreneurialism and innovation at all stages of your career journey.

Buckingham is unique. We are the only independent university in the UK with a Royal Charter, and probably the smallest with around 2,700 students (approx 1,600 on campus). Honours degrees are achieved in two intensive years of study. We keep class sizes small, with a student:academic staff ratio of 10.4:1 and the Oxbridge style tutorial groups are often personalised and always exhilarating.

As well as offering two-year degrees, our Business and Law Schools are focused on encouraging Women to upskill with a range of Professional Courses and Degree’s, which are Part Time, and can complement the busy lives of all today. From a Part Time LLB programme, to studying for a Chartered Management or Chartered Institute of Marketing professional qualification, we are making it even easier to access the qualifications you want and need to take your career wherever you want it to go!

The University are also incredibly proud of our fantastic Alumni who have gone on to achieve great things in the world of business. One such example of this is Moky Makura (Politics, Economics & Law ’88) the Communications Lead at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and she will be joining us to talk about her career journey on November 20th from 6:30pm in the Vinson Building: https://www.buckingham.ac.uk/event/moky-makura-jumping-trees/  Through talks such as these we hope to shine a light for women in business and show them that they can achieve greatness at all levels.

We are so looking forward to the awards final this December and celebrating Business Women at every stage of their career!
