PRESS RELEASE: Wokingham businesses invited to nominate their female colleagues for national awards.

Wokingham businesses invited to nominate their female colleagues for national awards.

Businesses from across the country are being encouraged to nominate their leading ladies for a special awards scheme.

The National Business Women’s Awards- which are returning for a second year- are designed to celebrate successful women from a variety of sectors and from businesses of any size.

Categories include Business Woman of the Year, Business Owner of the Year, Employee of the Year, Social Impact, and Service Excellence.

There is also a new award for Southern England Business Woman of the Year which counties including Berkshire are eligible to apply for.

The winner of this award will possess qualities such as entrepreneurial drive, leadership and passion, whilst demonstrating significant achievements and contribution within their industry.

Suzy Wood, Charity Ambassador for Railway Children says, “These awards really give an opportunity to recognise women in business, as there are some really powerful women out there, doing amazing things and these awards are really lending themselves to recognising that.”

The awards are open to businesses in the UK that commenced business prior to 1st January 2017 or for a New Business between 1st January 2017 and 31st December 2018.

Last year’s winner of the Best New Business category, Caroline Strawson of Caroline Strawson: The Divorce and Breakup Coach from Northamptonshire said “I think that when you enter an award and even become a finalist and then go on to win, the effect that it has on your business is amazing. For me posting on social media that I had won an award ultimately raised my profile and catapulted me to be an expert within my industry, so that I was able to attract more clients and be featured in national press.”

There are 21 categories to choose from and candidates can enter up to 3. Businesses of all sizes can enter by logging onto WWW.NBWAWARDS.CO.UK. Entries are open now until Thursday, September 5 at 3pm.
