Who are we?
One in seven women in the UK will develop breast cancer at some point in their lifetime. Breast Cancer Haven is the national charity that provides a tailored, personalised package of emotional, physical and practical support online and over the phone. All of our services are provided free of charge.
In a recent survey, 26% of women found the end of treatment the hardest part of breast cancer, with 90% feeling unready to move on when discharged from treatment. 53% said they struggle long term with anxiety and 31% with depression. Cancer treatments takes its toll physically, emotionally, financially, and in other aspects of daily life. For everyone affected, a diagnosis of breast cancer means living with uncertainty.
Each visitor to Breast Cancer Haven receives up to 12 hours of one to one supportive therapy time. All sessions are specifically designed to address the impact and side effects of breast cancer treatment such as nausea, hair loss, anxiety and insomnia as well as practical support on things like money and work, healthy eating and exercise. Our services include counselling, mindfulness, specialised yoga classes and nutritional therapy. Our counselling service is also extended to our visitors’ family members, partners and close friends. We also provide expert workshops, on-demand classes and online support groups.
Breast Cancer Haven shines a light during the dark times. Because we believe that nobody should have to face breast cancer alone.
